The Joy Of Being Pregnant

Being pregnant is beautiful don't get me wrong. You have a little bundle of joy growing inside of you wriggling about and what you get at the end I'm sure is going to be the most amazing gift you could ever receive. But oh my god, I had no idea that it would be like this. Not only is my whole torso growing like there's no tomorrow, my back is in so much pain along with my hips and knees and I'm constantly hunching from the extra weight. Gravity is no longer my friend. In fact no one is really because I'm too drained to even step outside my door! My social life has also plummeted into a big consuming hole of pregnancy. Not only all the obvious symptoms like: morning sickness (which I luckily don't have) indigestion, heartburn and many more aches and pains you didn't know could exist; you also have the joy of your immune system being 10x weaker meaning you're susceptible to pretty much any bug/virus that's going around. Secondly, in addition because your immune system is so weak it's roughly about 100x harder to get rid of a common cold which could potentially turn into something much worse because we're not allowed to take the drugs that help get rid of these nasty bugs. So although some of you may think "wow she looks good" or "you've really caught that pregnancy glow" trust me, the only shine I have about me is all the sweat from extra hormones and I don't feel that glowing when I'm struggling to breathe from mucus build up and a chesty cough. But hey, can't wait to finally meet the little devil inside me as I'm sure she'll be perfect. I now understand what my mum meant over all of these years. Sorry Mum.
